Fruit Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 quart (4 cups) sweetened frut
  • 1/2 cups unsalted butter, melted

Preparation

Bakes at 375°F

  1. Mix together milk, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour into pan
  2. Add fruit
  3. Pour melted butter on top and do not stir
  4. Bake for 45 - 60 minutes, or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean

Notes

This rises more than you might expect in the oven, so make sure the dish you're using is tall enough to account for it. I usually use glass or ceramic bakeware for this, but I doubt metal would cause much of an issue.

About

This is my default cobbler recipe. I got it from my mom, who got it from her mom, who got it from a friend of hers who maybe got it from a magazine. It's pretty tasty, and it's really easy to add spices to the batter to compliment whatever fruit you're using.

I threw this up on here because I'm tired of remembering where I saved this file. And it lets me practice HTML lists.
